Information for patients:
After your referral is received, you will be reviewed by our endocrinologist, Dr Hassan Shahid, who will guide you through the entire process. This initial appointment involves reviewing your medical history and blood tests, discussing the indication for treatment, going through the consent form, and explaining the infusion protocol in detail. You will be provided with a prescription for zoledronic acid and will need to purchase the medication from a pharmacy prior to your infusion appointment, which is typically scheduled as the second visit.
The estimated out-of-pocket cost for the infusion therapy, is $200. This may vary depending on factors such as referral type, clinical complexity, urgency of treatment, and Medicare eligibility. Please note that this cost does not include the price of the medication itself. Initial and follow up appointments with Dr Shahid may incur additional out-of-pocket costs which will be conveyed to you at the time of booking.
