Do I need a referral?
Yes, a valid GP or specialist referral is required to access Medicare rebates. If you’re unsure, our reception team can guide you.
Can I attend via telehealth?
Yes, telehealth appointments are available for eligible patients. You’ll need a referral and access to a smartphone or computer.
How long will my appointment take?
Initial consultations usually take around 45-60 minutes. Review visits are shorter but allow plenty of time for discussion.
Where can I park?
Free parking is available within the Rochedale Village Shopping Centre, right outside the clinic.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. Having a family member or friend for support can be very helpful especially if we’ll be discussing new information.
When will I get my results?
Most results are reviewed during your follow-up appointment. If anything urgent arises, we’ll contact you promptly.
Will I have to do blood tests again?
Sometimes. To ensure accuracy, we may repeat or extend your tests, especially if they were performed using a different laboratory.
Why do endocrinologists like early morning blood tests?
Because some hormones, like cortisol, prefer to perform before lunch. (We promise we’re much nicer after coffee.)
What if I need to cancel?
Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. This helps us offer your time to another patient in need.
Do you offer bulk billing?
Our clinic operates as a private billing practice. We do not routinely bulk bill, but we aim to keep our fees fair and reflective of the time and care provided. Medicare rebates are available for all consultations with a valid referral.
Why don’t you offer bulk billing?
We understand that healthcare costs can be challenging, and this decision is not made lightly. Providing thorough, evidence-based endocrine care requires extended consultation times, advanced diagnostic review, secure communication systems, and experienced clinical and administrative support. Bulk billing does not cover the true cost of these services, and maintaining a private billing model allows us to continue offering the time, attention, and standard of care our patients deserve.
